Extension Offers Fruit Tree Pruning in New Milford

Join Susquehanna County Master Gardeners George Schreck and Lori Wallace on Saturday, March 28, at 10 am at a private residence in New Milford and learn how to properly prune your fruit trees. This class is offered in partnership with the Montrose Area Adult School.

This class will focus on maximizing fruit production for apple, pear, and plum trees; young and old trees, site selection, variety selection, proper planting of new trees, choosing proper tools, maintenance of tools, sanitation and disease prevention. See examples of mistakes and what to do to correct them. This is an outdoor class with a bit of hiking. Dress appropriately for the weather: boots, gloves, hats. The class location is: 789 East Lake Road and directions will be emailed shortly before class. Class size is limited of 20 participants and costs $5.
