Deputy Director, Melissa Fleming (above, second from left) had the opportunity to tour the Northern Tier Career Center (NTCC) in Towanda on Thursday with PA Department of Labor and Industry Deputy Secretary for Workforce Development, Eileen Cipriani (third from right) and other local representatives. Deputy Secretary Cipriani was very impressed with both the training programs at NTCC and the students she had an opportunity to interact with. Cipriani stressed the importance of career and technical centers in preparing students with the technical training needed to meet the demands of local employers.
The Northern Tier Career Center offers job training programs including transportation, construction, manufacturing, information technology, health, hospitality and human services to over 400 high school students. Licensed Practical Nursing and PA State Auto Inspection License programs are also available to adults students. NTCC is owned and operated by the eight school districts in Bradford and Sullivan counties.
