Tom and Barb Field of Noxen came across this original 1853 property map of Wyoming County at an ephemera sale in Plains a few years ago. After keeping it rolled up and safe from further damage during that time, the couple decided to donate it to the county for display at the courthouse in Tunkhannock. The commissioners gladly accepted the offering, which predates the commonly seen 1869 map, a copy of which hangs in the commissioners board room. Wyoming County Room Tax funds were used to lightly restore the map and properly preserve it in its new frame.
