Summer Temps Winding Down as Fall Approaches


The sunsets are taking on a new look over Cherry Township in Sullivan County, and the morning dew is getting heavier.

Despite an unseasonably cool Friday, the long term forecast hints at above average temperatures over the next week, followed by a slow slide into more autumn-like weather.

The first day of fall this year is on Monday, Sept. 23, and even that looks to be a few degrees above normal.

The long-term forecast follows:

Friday Night: cloudy 55

Saturday: showers 70/55

Sunday: sunshine 76/58

Monday: partly cloudy 76/55

Tuesday: partly cloudy 75/50

Wednesday: sunny 76/56

Thursday: sunny 78/58

Friday: partly cloudy 80/57

The weather report is based on expected conditions at approximately 1,100 ft elevation in Meshoppen Township, Wyoming County, near the center of the Endless Mountains region. Residents of river towns can generally expect slightly higher temperatures, while those at higher elevations may experience lower temperatures.
