Native American Pow Wow Slated for September

Submitted Article

The grounds of The Belize Fund in Susquehanna will come alive during its sixth annual All Nations Benefit Pow Wow on September 7 and 8.

The Pow Wow will give visitors a chance to experience and learn Native American culture and traditions through their dancing, drumming, singing, and storytelling –  many of them performing in full regalia.

Between watching the dancers and listening to the beat of the drums, attendees will have the opportunity to browse through the art, craft, and other specialty vendors on hand and enjoy some good food and educational programs that will provide fun for the entire family.

The event will be held from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday, with the Grand Entry at noon both days.

Admission is $7 for those ages 12 and up; $5 for seniors (65+) and veterans; and free for active military, children under 12, and dancers in regalia. Visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation to benefit Native American families.

There will be free parking and shuttle bus service to the pow wow grounds located at 163 Melrose Rd. The event will take place rain or shine. Bring a lawn chair and blanket; no pets, alcohol, or drugs allowed.
