Forest Landowners Picnic and Memorial Presentation Planned

Submitted Article

The Susquehanna County Forest Landowners will be holding their annual picnic on Sunday, June 23 at Salt Springs Park, rain or shine.

In addition to the picnic, which is open to the public, a presentation of a bluestone bench in memory of longtime member, Bob Wagner, will be made. We will start gathering at 11 am with lunch at 12:30 pm.

Forester Jim Kessler will present an overview of the severe damage that the most recent flood inflicted on the park and what is being done to repair it.

Grilled meats and bread will be provided, but it is requested that guests bring a dish to share:   Last name ending in A through M – Desserts; Last name ending in M through Z – salad/side. Water will be provided.

Because of the addition of the memorial bench presentation and having more guests than usual, organizers are asking that all those interested in coming please RSVP to Bill Maitland at (570) 222-3636 by June 14 so there is enough food for all.
