In an effort to honor all area Vietnam-era veterans, the office of Sen. Pat Toomey (PA) and state Rep. Tina Pickett (Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) will co-host a ceremony honoring Bradford County Vietnam veterans.

The ceremony will take place on Monday, April 1, from 4–5 p.m. at the American Legion Post No. 42, 912 Main St., Towanda, PA 18848.

Our Commonwealth’s Vietnam veterans bravely served this country and it is an honor for my office to recognize them for their service,” said Toomey. “For over half a century, many of these veterans have been unsung heroes. I encourage all Vietnam War veterans in the region to participate in this recognition event.”

Commemorative pins will be presented to eligible Vietnam-era veterans during the ceremony. Veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time between Nov. 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975, regardless of location, will be eligible to receive a lapel pin at this ceremony. Family members are invited to attend the ceremony with veterans.

This ceremony is to recognize and show our appreciation to the brave men and women who served our great nation during the Vietnam War era,” Pickett said. “These men and women deserve every honor that can be bestowed upon them and I am grateful for the opportunity to join Senator Toomey’s office to recognize them for their selfless sacrifice.”

Vietnam veterans who wish to attend, please contact Toomey’s office in Wilkes-Barre at 570-820-4088 or Pickett’s office in Towanda at 570-265-3124 to RSVP.
