Summer Camping Experience Available to Local Youths

George Dunn, caseworker and facilitator of the Salvation Army Towanda Service Center announced at Thursday’s meeting of the Bradford County Commissioners that enrollment is now open for 7- to- 12 year-olds to attend Camp Ladore near Waymart, Wayne County, from June 24 to 29.

The camp is owned and operated by The Salvation Army and offers a 265-acre lake, and 1,200 acres of land to explore and get away from their electronic devices. The Salvation Army is ready to supply camper with the ultimate camping experience through its partnership with American Camping Association.

There are no income guidelines, meaning that camp is free to anybody who enrolls on a first-come, first-served basis. Activities include but are not limited to kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking, rope challenges, pioneer camping, pedal carts, archery, arts & crafts, Gaga Ball, tubing and campfires in a Christian environment.
