Gene and his wife of 42yrs Gail are lifelong residents of Falls Twp. Gene is an active member in the community. A member of the Lake Winola United Methodist Church, serving on the SPRC committee and Chairing for 2 terms. A member of the Lake Winola Vol. Fire Co. for 47yrs. And currently holding the position as Chief. Gene is currently the Director of Wyoming County Emergency Management for the past 15 yrs. During that time he has assisted municipalities as well as Wyoming County in recovering millions of dollars for Disaster Recovery. He’s also assisted individuals throughout the county in disaster recovery. I’m running for Commissioner to use my experience of County Government to the next level. With my experience I’m well versed in working with the State and Federal Government in securing grant monies, which I will use as Commissioner.
Dziak is currently working the Opioid Crisis. He is a Commissioner on the Luzerne/Wyoming County Drug and Alcohol Commission. Gene is co-chair of the Wyoming County Drug and Alcohol Hope Coalition. Serving as a Stakeholder on the Governors Opioid Disaster Declaration in Harrisburg. Through these efforts I was able to fund a program to place Narcan on all Basic Life Support Ambulances and Police cars in Wyoming County. As Commissioner I will continue these efforts to save the lives of our County residents.
As a Commissioner and a Taxpayer we need to address Taxes. I will hold County Department heads accountable for a sensible and affordable spending budget. Securing State and Federal Funds that apply, and by cutting unnecessary expenditures. Looking at the big picture we need to work with our business organizations to attract business industry to Wyoming County. We need to draw revenue to Wyoming County to increase our growth.
As Commissioner I would like to hear from our local Fire and EMS volunteers, hear their unmet needs ,and do what we can to meet them.
