Bustin to Seek Second Term as Bradford County Commissioner

From the moment I was sworn into office in March of 2015, I have kept my promise to serve the people of Bradford County with integrity, dignity and respect. Today I renew that promise as I announce my candidacy to seek a second term as your commissioner. I am proud of the work done on behalf of the people of Bradford County to insure fiscal integrity, to support our county human services, and to stand in defense of property owners against the criminal theft of their legitimate royalty rights. I have been an advocate for those suffering in the darkness of addiction, and pledge my continuing support to those working to build stronger communities that protect our families by improving prevention, treatment and recovery resources.

During the past four years I have worked with my fellow Commissioners in a non-partisan manner to create new and innovative programs aimed at major infrastructure improvements.  These projects include; the completion of the courthouse dome and portico renovation, planning and construction of new Public Safety Building, designing and funding an unprecedented bundling project that will repair or replace eight county bridges by the end of 2020, and our broadband fiber initiative, which will enhance education, economic development and vastly improve emergency communication within Bradford County. I believe this initiative will establish a model for rural counties across the commonwealth and the nation.

I am proud of all the accomplishments that have been achieved over the last four years, but I also know that the challenges facing our county will continue to require bold, experienced leadership.  In recent years we have seen devastating floods threaten lives and property. While that risk can never be fully eliminated, I have been working with county, state and federal partners to expand our stream bank management program and to improve our ability to protect the lives and property of our residents.  Jail over-crowding, election reform, human services funding and creating housing options for our homeless population are just some of the challenges that I will continue to aggressively address in my second term.

It is an honor to serve as your commissioner, and I look forward to serving the people of Bradford County for a second term.
