French Azilum to Open With French Colonial Themed Events

The beautiful French Azilum historic site will open its season with The Brigade Napoleon, a 1793-1815 reenactment organization. You will see cavalry and infantry representing France, England, Russia and Prussia. The camp will be open to the public Saturday & Sunday with a suggested donation requested.

The Second Annual Jane Austen Tea will be hosted Sunday in the John Laporte House. The tea is a ticketed reservation only event. The Binghamton English Country Dancers will also be on site Sunday for your entertainment. The Laporte house is closed for tours Sunday but the Napoleon Brigade camp will be open.

Food will be available for purchase from The Flying Cow Bakery. Please come out and support this local business.

French Azilum was a planned settlement for refugees fleeing the French Revolution.  Some people believe Marie Antoinette was heading to the site as a refugee. Come and check out the mystery for yourself.
