Symphony Performer Accepts Academic Position

Michele Fadden, a timpani player for the Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra, has accepted a position as Adjunct Faculty – Percussion Instructor at Wilkes University for the Percussion Ensemble as well as Percussion Instructor for Wilkes University Conservatory, providing private instruction to students of all ages. 

Fadden earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. She has studied with Adam Brennan, Ted Rounds, and others through clinics and master classes.

Fadden has appeared with Wilkes University Civic Band, Pine Bush, NY, Community Band, Orange County, NY, Music Educators Wind Ensemble, and East Stroudsburg University Concert Band.

I’m very proud and excited to be given the opportunity to share my love of playing with the students of Wilkes and the community,” Fadden said. “The support from the university administration, the department chair, and my fellow teachers has been wonderful. I look forward to many great performances with the percussion ensemble.”

Fadden is originally from Lock Haven, Pa., and currently resides in Ashley, Pa, with her husband and rescue animals. 

The Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2010 as a non-profit community orchestra with the goal of bringing live classical music to the Endless Mountains region of Pennsylvania. It is based in Tunkhannock, where it presents several concerts each year. Concerts are also presented in other communities.
